Microwave Troubleshooting

Hi!

Welcome to Nestwell Property Managements 24/7 DIY Maintenance Center. Thank you for your question about your malfunctioning microwave.

There are several common reasons why a microwave will no longer operate as intended.

The most common reason for a microwave malfunction is a tripped circuit breaker. The following video will provide you with the information you need to check for a tripped microwave circuit and how to reset it:

If the breaker for the microwave is closed and the microwave has no beeping when the buttons are pressed, the screen does not light up, and the lights still do not work, Nestwell will need to send someone to repair it. Please keep in mind if a vendor is dispatched to your unit to repair the microwave, and the issue is resolved through a simple breaker check, the trip fee and other related charges will be applied to your account in the month following the vendor's visit.

Finally, if the microwave lights are on, the buttons beep when depressed, and it sounds like the microwave is running, but the food will not heat up, then the microwave will likely need to be replaced, and we will send a repairman.

Once you have tried those few things, please let us know by updating your work order with the information or opening a work order here: Resident Portal and Request a Repair.
